What Is a Sailcloth Tent?

A sailcloth tent is exactly what the name says: a tent whose canopy is cut and finished from genuine sailcloth by people who know the material. The fabric that Sperry sailmakers work with breathes during the day, keeping the space cool and bright, and glows at night when the lights come up inside.

Raised on hand-finished wooden poles with sculpted peaks and scalloped edges, a Sperry Tent doesn’t cover your event so much as become the venue itself, which is why planners and couples seek out sailcloth over standard vinyl frame tents.

Sailcloth Tent Sizes and Capacities

Sperry Tents are made in sizes for every gathering, from an intimate dinner party under a small round tent to a reception seating 350 to 400 guests, with room for up to 750 for standing events. Every tent above lists its dimensions, square footage, and seated and non-seated guest capacities, and tents can be joined and combined for larger footprints.

Guest count is the starting point, but dance floors, bars, buffets, and lounge areas all shape the size you need. Sketch your own layout with our tent layout planner to see how your guest list translates to a tent.
