Tented Miami Wedding with Crisp Whites and Lush Greenery

Carolina and Frankie’s Miami wedding was one for the record books. After dealing with numerous COVID-19-related postponements, the wedding reception of their dreams finally took place at the groom’s godparents’ waterfront home in Coral Gables, Florida. The ceremony beforehand was held at Epiphany Catholic Church, the church at the elementary school where the bride and groom met over 20 years ago.

Echoing the colors and textures of the seaside setting, the decor blends whites and blues with rattan lanterns and bamboo chairs. Beautiful greenery winds up the tent’s center poles, providing a lush dose of garden green that pops against the decor’s crisp whites and ivories. In the bride’s own words, “After a long year of lockdowns, we wanted our guests to feel like they were transported to a cozy coastal vacation.”

The couple’s Cuban heritage was woven throughout the details of the day. There was even a “hora loca” (Spanish for “the crazy hour,” a Hispanic wedding tradition meant to kick off the party’s later hours) with showers of white confetti. While guests donned all sorts of accessories, the bride rocked a custom orchid headpiece and the groom a captain’s hat with his initials.
